Korea Women’s Lacrosse Team will participate in the 2022 World Lacrosse Women’s
World Championship
The Korea Women's Lacrosse team will participate in the 2022 World Lacrosse Women’s World
Championship at Towson University in Maryland, USA.
The 2022 World Lacrosse Women’s World Championship is organized by World Lacrosse, an
international lacrosse organization. It is a competition held once every four years, but it has been
postponed for one year due to COVID-19 and will be held from June 29 to July 9.
A total of 30 countries, including Korea, will participate in the 2022 World Lacrosse Women’s World
Championship, the most prestigious women's lacrosse competition, to compete fiercely for the
championship.
Starting with the 2009 World Championship, they ranked 3 rd place in 2013 and 2015 ASPAC and 2 nd
place in 2019. The Korea Women's Lacrosse team is expected to show continuous growth by
participating in the World Championship for the fourth time in a row.
Lacrosse is an improvement of ball game enjoyed by North American Indians in the mid-19th century
to modern sports. Using a stick with a net, a ball slightly smaller than a baseball is carried and scored
in the goal.
As it is still an unfamiliar sport in Korea, both players and staff are steadily training hard despite the
difficult conditions of combining their main job and the national team.
Starting with the match against Israel on the June 30 th , Korea will play against Puerto Rico, the
Netherlands and Norway one after another.
